Our added value

Osmanthus flowers are a rich source of food for pollinators, especially bees, which helps maintain their populations and the plantation of Osmanthus trees.

Human intervention on the trees is limited to removing weeds from under the trees during harvest and collecting the flowers by using bamboo poles to shake the branches and make the flowers fall.

No irrigation is required for Osmanthus trees.

The exhausted vegetable raw material obtained after processing is used as fertilizer by the neighboring villages.

Traceable at plantation level.

We have more than a century of expertise in natural materials, with thirty years of in-house production of essential oils, absolutes and resinoids at our production center in Spain.

The Gold Osmanthus is floral, fruity, freesia, jasmine-like, peachy, apricot-like, sweet with a hint of green on top. Compared to traditional Osmanthus, it is fresher and has softer floral notes.

Sweet osmanthus, originally from Asia’s eastern Himalayas, has been grown for more than 2,500 years in China and was commonly planted in the imperial palace gardens in the Forbidden City in Beijing. Today, Osmanthus fragrans grows mainly in Guangxi province. The flowers are traditionally used in food, wine and beverages. China’s great flower-scented teas were developed during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644).

The trees bloom from September to mid-November. The flowering period is short, lasting only 5 to 10 days.
The flowers are harvested by hand by beating the branches of the trees to make the flowers fall on a large cloth spread on the ground, then the flowers are separated from the leaves using sieves, before being put in brine for a few weeks, a step responsible for the powerful and addictive animal notes found in osmanthus absolute.
The flowers are washed with water to remove salt and impurities before being extracted with a volatile solvent to obtain a waxy material called concrete. The concrete is then washed with ethanol in our production center in Spain to obtain the final extract, the absolute.
